Trichology is the para-medical science of the hair, hair loss and associated scalp problems. It encompasses the study of the diseases of the human hair and scalp, as well as the assessment of the cause(s) and treatment of these disorders.

The word “trichology” comes from the Greek word, ‘Trikhos’, meaning ‘hair’, and was first conceived as a specialty branch of study in Britain in the late 19th century. It then became a specific para-medical discipline in 1902.

When you meet with us at Bond Studio in Staten Island, we’ll typically recommend a brief, non-invasive scalp analysis. There’s a simple reason for this: Much of the time, hair loss is due to unhealthy scalp conditions, and identifying those factors can help us customize an effective treatment plan. For many of our clients, those unhealthy scalp conditions can be cleared up with trichology-based scalp care. In particular, we are pleased to provide the Capilia Head First program.

This is the gold standard in scalp care and trichology treatment, a line of products that’s valued by hair experts all across the world. Only the most thoroughly vetted hair studios are licensed to sell this product, and we’re proud to be on that list.

The Capilia Head First trichology and scalp treatments are based on an advanced scientific understanding of the skin and the follicles, and how any unhealthy scalp condition can impede proper hair growth. With the Capilia line, you can reverse those conditions naturally and holistically, and open the door to exciting new hair growth.

There are a number of products in the Capilia Head First line, all of them tested and proven to be both safe and effective in hair restoration. With that said, you won’t necessarily need all of these products. Our stylists can help you assemble a course of scalp treatments that will address your underlying needs. This might include clinically formulated shampoos, lotions, or even nutritional supplements.

Capilia Head First TrichologyTrichology treatments won’t work overnight, but a number of our clients have had immense success with it over time; it is always an encouragement to our clients when they see their own, natural hair growing once again in places they thought their hair may never grow.

The bottom line: It is possible to slow the effects of hair loss, often by way of trichology-based scalp care… and Capilia leads the way.
